Martial Arts

This image of Chris was captured several years ago on black and white film on a Mamyia 645AF. It was shot in a rented studio with hot lights.
Chris is not as large as some of the other models I have worked with, but he is extraordinarily well-defined. He is also a martial artist. During the shoot we experimented with many martial arts movements and poses.

Crucified

This reworked image from a shoot some time ago is of a model named Marski. The negative was rescanned and the image was processed in Photoshop to create the Orton Effect, mentioned in other posts to this blog over the last view months. Composite Twins

This image was created by stitching together two separate images of Alan beside each other. I like the fact that they are mirror images without actually being mirror images. For example, if Alan were looking in the mirror at himself the reflected image would show his other hand raised, not the same hand, and the tilt of his torse would be exactly the same, not just similar.

Duality

This series of images originates from my recent photo shoot with Alan, however in each case I have created double exposures. For these images I chose two images that were very similar -- perhaps only the hand position was different along with some small movement of the camera as I shot the next frame. One image was copied over the other as a new layer in Photoshop. Then I chose "Color Burn" as the blending mode for the second layer.

I like the resulting images in each case because the blending mode created an eerie feeling, especially in the shots where Alan is looking directly into the camera.

Dreamboy

Today's image continues the posts of Alan from my recent shoot. This image has been processed in Photoshop to look like a solarized image. To create the effect I used the Photoshop Curves dialog and elevated the dark end of the spectrum while leaving the rest of the spectrum alone.
